McDreamy and Co!

We are COMPLETELY addicted at the moment to Grey's Anatomy - having missed it entirely when it was on TV here in New Zealand - we are always too busy doing a show is all I can assume - we have discovered it and basically spent the ENTIRE (and I mean ENTIRE) weekend watching this great series - fab acting, an awesome script - and superb eye candy all means fab fab fab television - also missed season 4 so cant wait for that to come out on DVD.

We also had a bit of a get together of the cast on Friday night which was great - amazing how much you miss people that you have basically been in a pressure cooker environment with for 3 months - it was wonderful to see them all - especially great news is that one of my chaps from the show has just been cast in 12 Angry Men which is truly a masterpiece of theatre - so feeling very proud!

Mum and Dad were also in Shortland Street on Friday night and click here for the pictures to prove it.

IT'S JOEY!!!

Well the story line that has been gripping all Shortland Street fans was finally revealed on Friday night - Joey Henderson (aka Johnny Barker who just happens to be my friend Charlie's brother in real life) is the Serial Killer. I was thrilled and surprised when I finally found out who it was.

A bit annoying was the "game playing" of TVNZ leaking dodgy videos trying to lead fans up the garden path. Sometimes I think Television executives REALLY misjudge their public - who let's face it are the ones that watch the programmes - and sit around on their well padded derrieres wondering how next to confuse the public. I firmly in my heart of hearts believe that the below is a lie to the fans as the chracter Joey was quite aware that he was going to be the serial killer 5 months or so ago according to a recent intereview..... anyway enough of my muttering it was certainly a way to get people talking about our beloeved "shorty" - presently the show is off the air having had the finale of the year last Friday - still only a month to go until I get my regular Shorty fix!

Below is an article from Producers

Shortland Street's 2007 finale revealed the identity of the serial killer who has been stalking Ferndale - and confirmed that the real ending to this year's most talked about storyline was never leaked. Last week the appearance of three alternate endings to the serial killer story on YouTube provoked intense speculation as to which of the endings might be the one intended for broadcast. However, it was a fourth ending that tonight unmasked the serial killer. Producer Jason Daniel said: "We announced several months ago that we were shooting several alternate endings to the story, so that if there was ever leak, nobody could know which ending would be used. In fact, security around the real ending was incredibly tight and the real ending remained a secret.

"However, to have confirmed this at the time of last week's leaks would have eliminated the suspects featured in those endings and spoiled the fun for viewers eagerly anticipating our finale.
"We're still not entirely sure how the three alternate endings ended up on YouTube, but we're confident that nobody at Shortland Street or South Pacific Pictures was behind the leaks."

Yeah yeah whatever :o) Anyway had THE MOST INCREDIBLE TIME IN ROTORUA and will post some pics and descriptions shortly.

Who Has A Clever Friend Then?

Well the nightly New Zealand drama that is Shortland Street just keeps getting better and better - not sure if they have new writers/ directors but definately in its 15th year it is better acted/ better production values/ better directed etc etc. ANYWAY the big news is that my dear friend Vikki is currently renewing her role as the Inspector following Claire's untimely demise (see above). I have NO IDEA what is going to happen as getting information from her is like getting blood out of a stone - she is VERY GOOD at the old secrecy biz anyway here are a couple of shots of her acting her heart out the other night - you GO GIRL!

hens nights, broken heals, investitures at government house

Well what a weekend! As stated not one but TWO hen's nights..... both fabulous nights (broken heal on my boot at Caluzzi aside :o)) Congratulations to Sue and Ngaire on living through them both - but the absolute highlight of the last couple of days has to be Dad's investiture as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit at Government House yesterday.

Alot of people have asked me - well that sounds great but WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN - well the easiest explanation is on the leaflet to the right where it states ".... recognises those persons who in any field of endeavour, have rendered meritorious service to the Crown and nation or who have become distinguished by their eminence, talents, contributions or other merits..."

I can also now tell people that Dad is one of a very few select people that have been invited to a dinner party at Government House on Wednesday evening - cor talk about "lives of the blimmin rich and famous" - oh and as a lovely aside to the exciting events of yesterday - we were driving home from Government House (having been delivered in one of the Langham Limousines) and Dad gets a call from the casting lady at Shortland Street and has to rush in there to assist with a voice over requirement they had..... phew what a day!!! and Dad - once again WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!

Well I Did It!

Filming is "a wrap" on my scenes on Shortland Street. Obviously can't repeat anything about them due to confidentiality issues etc but suffice to say it was a blast! What should have been shoot that started at 7.15am in make up and be tied up for me by 14.15 actually ended up finishing at 16.45. So one l-o-n-g day and today I have the head ache to prove it.

I know alot of people mock shows like Shortland Street/ Coronation Street and other similar "nightly" shows but until you have actually been there and seen how INCREDIBLY hard working these people are you really have no idea. Literally actors learning lines right up until shoot times, deadlines that would make most movie actors (who would film if they were lucky 5 minutes a day) have palpitations - the thing is these actors/ technicians are filming over 20 minutes of tv all day, every day.

Crazy crazy stuff - so HATS OFF to everyone who works on shows like these and I just feel incredibly proud that I got to "live the dream" even if it was for only 10 hours or so. And no there will be NO hints about when it is showing :o)

Break A Leg To Me! Filming Starts

Ok just to say won't be around for next couple of days (thanks I heard that AWW from here!). But seriously am off rehearsing for my role tomorrow and then filming on Thursday (18th Jan) so WISH ME LUCK! Will report back (well obviously not report back too much due to confidentiality etc etc) but will let you know how I went on Friday. Shorty Street here I come - are they prepared? Am I??? Is the World?
