Thank You For Smoking - No, Thank You!

So last night finally got to watch the most anticipated movie for a while (well for me anyway) Thank You For Smoking - with the divine Aaron Eckhart (ahh be still my beating heart!). What a great movie! - Wonderfully cynical and gave a real insight into the "spin doctors" who make up Big Business and the so called MOD Squad - Merchants of Doom for those of you who haven't seen it! Whilst not a laugh out loud film I agree perfectly with the website Rotten Tomatoes, who reports that it has"Delightfully unscrupulous characters and searing cynicism prick all sides of the anti-smoking issue with hilarity and intelligence."

Onto other things we have now FINALLY and officially finished work on our seventh production of the year and no sooner had that happened then ANOTHER production meeting for ANOTHER show coming on later in the year - yikes! (Mind you at least the one coming up is going to be a bit of a challenge and a bit of fun - but as I don't know who reads this blog will keep it at that :o)).... um what else?

Oh yes my darling finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last weekend and we managed to also catch up on ALL Four of the other movies so are all ready to head off to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix sometime soon - until then my dear friends - ciao and see you in cyberspace xxx

I FINISHED IT!

Took me about 15 hours more or less (in between Rugby and Netball Games) and finishing sound for Laying the Ghost! I ADORED this book so much - It made me cry, laugh, be shocked and ultimately be completely satisfied.

HARRY POTTER ROCKS is all I can say, and can't wait for the Deathly Hallows movie it is going to be incredible - every special effect you could dream of and more! WOOHOO.
Now I think it is time to start reading the whole series again - that is one of the (many) great things about these books, they can be read over and over and over and over and over and (well you get the idea)

WOOHOO!

Well the All Blacks did us proud not only winners of the Bledisloe Cup but also the Tri-Nations - bring on the WORLD CUP in October!!! Also have managed up to Page 178 of Harry Potter and is proving to be the best yet! Won't spoil it for anyone but adoring it!. Now it is just up to the Silver Ferns - boy what a weekend - and tomorrow we get to finalise sound on our SIXTH show for the year! Cor Blimey!

Well Today Is the Day

Hopefully in two and a half hours I will be holding in my hot little hands my very own copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether or not I will be able to read the ending before some scum bag has posted it on the internet (if they haven't already!). So wish me luck beating off the hoardes of Children at our local Paper Plus! Oh and Dad have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY and GO THE ALL BLACKS in tonight's mighty Bledisloe Cup encounter.

is anyone else excited??

The cover for the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has been released, and shows the boy wizard as a teenager reaching for the sky. All the information you could possibly want is online at http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/.

The seventh and last book in author JK Rowling's popular series was designed by illustrator Mary GrandPre, US publisher Scholastic Inc announced. Scholastic's art director David Saylor said the book would have a wraparound cover - a first for the Potter series. "On the back cover spidery hands are outstretched toward Harry," Saylor said. "Only when the book is opened does one see a powerful image of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, his glowing red eyes peering out from his hood." (note that information is relating to the US cover - I am showing the English cover here as that is the one we seem to get here first).

More than 325 million copies of the Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is scheduled for a worldwide release on July 21 and my plan is to buy the book on the day it comes out and not put it down until my eyes can't take it anymore.........
