Only one more sleep!

Had such a great day today. Catching up with two very special girlfriends (you know who you are!) Sometimes life (well my life in particular) gets so crazy busy that you forget to take time out and, even thought it sounds corny, "smell the roses" so to them and the many other people I adore in my life please understand that even though I don't see you as much as I may like you are ALWAYS in my heart.

Additionally I have been having a BLAST with my early Birthday Pressie from my main squeeze. Yes I am now the proud owner of not just Guitar Hero One but Guitar Hero Two with the compulsory guitar to go along with it. Crazy I know for a 40 something to be rocking out in her lounge but I Love It! And feeling quite proud of myself as have "nailed" ALL the songs on easy mode - even got a 100% on Smoke on the Water with something like 557 notes! Oi! So now working on doing the same in "medium" and trust me it is HARD!

Anyway only a couple of more hours and I will be 41! Yikes! mmmm maybe should start going backward 39 does somehow sound SO much better!

(oh and YAY! for Jennifer Hudson getting the SAG award yesterday - looks pretty obvious who will be getting the top acting awards for the Oscars but anything can happen on the night!) Ciao!

Holiday!

Good morning, well am very excited as today is the last day of work until Thursday 1st when I will officially be one year older. Yes like all good people we do get older so to celebrate I am taking three days off work. Our lovely boss gives us 1/2 a day for our Birthday and as Monday is Auckland Anniversary Day I figured why not. So am very much looking forward to some quiet time - going to the movies, catching up with friends, tidying the house (well not looking forward to that) and just relaxing.

Auckland is SUCH a beautiful city and I think we as Aucklander's
sometimes forget how darn lucky we are to live in this "little slice of heaven" and it truly is - Ian gets so many comments from guests at The Langham who just cant believe how beautiful our city is. So Go Auckland!

Also we watched The Manchurian Candidate (2004) last night - I thought I was going to HATE it after the first five minutes, but it actually ended up being a fascinating movie - and of course with Meryl Streep , Denzel Washington and Liev Schreiber it was never going to be bad. One thing we did note however that seems to be a new turn in movies is that when there is action a movie becomes INCREDIBLY loud and at other times so quiet you can't hear the darn thing. I don't know if this is the same in movie theatres but certainly watching it on SKY we ended up reaching for the sound remote every five minutes.

Oh and looks like didn't get any of my auditions I have been for recently - but hey That's Show Biz!
