Exciting Times
Well we have been very lucky over the last two nights to see two of the most professional, exciting shows I have seen in an AWFULLY long time. First up on Friday we celebrated Ian's Birthday (51!) and our 11th year together... So it was off to We Will Rock You at the Civic Theatre - what a show! Fantastic music, energy - the sound was flawless (something that is a bit of a rarity these days). The minute it finished I wanted to book tickets to see it again - but unfortunately with Xmas coming up my credit card pleaded with me not to :o) But honestly can't say enough about this show. Also fantastic to see was the Civic packed out with Auckland Theatre Goers. It just goes to prove that if you send us a good show we will go!
Last night we also managed to see a more "local" production. Salute To Broadway at the Harlequin Musical Theatre, directed by our dear friend Grant Meese and choreographed superbly by Roseanne Simms it was a visual and aural treat from start to finish. It makes us feel very humble to have such phenomenally talented friends and this show restored our faith in the ability of Auckland musical theatre societies to produce top class entertainment. Kudos to all involved..... you made us very proud.
Work as usual has been pretty hectic with Managers Meetings and the countdown to the "silly" season well upon us. This week I was also lucky enough to attend an audition for a big campaign for one of the major telecommunication providers here in New Zealand. I was a bit annoyed with myself as did not feel I gave my normal audition and was a bit wracked with self doubt - something I need to get over if I am ever to do anymore adverts - but always good to be able to audition and you always learn something new each time - my problem is I am always a bit too "actory" which is ironic I suppose - they ask actors to audition and then you get criticised for being too much of an actor! I am not holding out any hope that I actually got this one - but stranger things have happened at sea - so onwards and upwards.
This week should hopefully be a bit quieter - but who knows with us? Have a great week everyone....
