Another year older..... Another year wiser???
What a fantastic day I had yesterday. Went and saw not one but two movies. The Pursuit of Happyness and The Queen - fantastic, character driven movies. Of course both Will Smith and Helen Mirren respectively have been nominated for Best Acting Oscars and is not hard to see why. Helen Mirren must be a sure thing for Best Actress but (sorry Will) I believe by Hollywood Standards and the preview I saw yesterday (darn thing has not been released in NZ yet) Forest Whittaker will waltz away with the Best Male Oscar for The Last King of Scotland.
We (Mum, Dad and Ian and I) then went out to dinner at a local Italian restaurant called Bosco Verde - DIVINE! Then off to the Stardome. What an interesting place! Over 2 hours we were there, gazing at far off planets - Saturn is SO CUTE! Also whilst there watched a fascinating show on S.E.T.I. (Search for Extra Terrestial Intelligence) which was highly amusing (narrated by the inimitable Hugh Laurie) but hugely educational - leaves you pondering way more than you should after imbibing on a gorgeous Pinot!
Anyway am back at work today and just had two fantastic things happen!

Firstly on my email I got the most wonderful birthday card from Donny Osmond! I am a member of the donny.com website and obviously a HUGE fan (Ian and I saw him in concert here last year and he quite simply rocked! anyway that is beside the point!) and every single member gets this great card on their birthday with a greeting from the Big D himself (how's that for keeping your fans happy!) - and then MUCH TO MY SURPRISE got a phone call from Gene Hughes the Founder of Nature's Sunshine Products and he sang "happy birthday to you" etc etc, I was in such shock I think I told him to "keep his day job!!!" - probably not the best thing to say to the founder of the company but he very generously laughed and told me to "keep up the great work you are doing down there" (he is based in Utah!) So feeling pretty chuffed at the moment! (who said birthday's are bad things?!?!)
39 is a great age HA HA HA !!!
